Why are people kicking me out xbox live matches for being gay!?

like 2 and a half weeks ago i was playing black ops and my friend made a comment about me being the best gay black ops player and i started laughing and said me being gay has nothing to do with me being the best i just am, but some guy started freaking out and calling me a queer a fag homo any thing he could think of and then i was kicked out of the match and started getting messages from him and 2 of the other ppl telling me im going to die and go to hell and several more names. followed by bad player reviews idk y but now im kicked from most games and get messages saying they aren't going to play with a fag. but whats weird is i didn't start getting kicked for being gay till recently and im like WTF!!!
