What breed small dog do you suggest for my family?
You might try a Bichon Frise. This breed is in the toy dog category, but it is actually the largest toy dog out there. The fact that this dog is a larger dog but still in the toy dog category is good if you want a small or toy dog but have children because smaller dogs tend to have more delicate legs, which is REALLY bad for them if they are dropped. This dog is sturdy as well which means that it would probably be able to stand the poor grip control that childern used to have. Children have poor grip control, and therefore could drop the dog (without meaning too of course). This breed is also good for allergy sufferers because they do not shed and produce less dander than other dogs. This dog LOVES people as well as children, and they actually are not very "yappy" like a lot of other toy dogs are. However, they can be difficult to house break, but if you work with them, you should be able to resolve this issue if you work with them. Otherwise, they are easy to train and just a great dog overall.
