How do i potty train my yorkie ?

My dog is a year and eight months old and still goes to the bathroom in the house I take him out he'll pee and I tell him to poop for about 5 minutes and the second I take him in he'll poop on the floor. I read somewhere using the crate is helpful but now he's just pooping in there as well. I don't know what to do now.
