How do you potty train a 8 month old puppy when you have a 9 year old dog?

i got a 8 month old mini dachshund, when I already have a 9 year old mini dachshund. The 9 year old is potty trained, and we cant seem to figure out how to potty train the puppy. PLEASE HELP!!!
