Being teased about playing Minecraft?

I 13 and I'm in year 8 in secondary school. I really like Minecraft, but even though some people haven't even played it, they judge me for it and start teasing me, even my closest friends go against me when a person from a higher year comes up at me calling me a nerd or a "queer", but I'm really not that type of person at all. I play other games to like modern warfare 2, halo, left 4 dead and all that. They say they have played it before and they hated it, but what's there to hate in it? I mean seriously, how can you hate it? What should I do about it?
